The gift of simplicity, the gift of silence, the gift of contentment & the gift of moving forward. These simple gifts are often difficult for us to achieve because we let our minds get the best of us.
One thing I love about meditation is that it is gives you the gift and ability to refocus and redirect your mind. Meditation is NOT for shutting the brain off. Meditation is a tool to bring simplicity to the mind and change your focus. The hardest trick with meditation is actually doing it. This is why I tell people to start with three minutes a day. Like keeping up with working out; even meditating for three minutes can be difficult.
Stay inspired & mark your calendar with a big note and hang it on the wall to remind yourself to meditate every day. Here are two simple meditations to try: 4/4 Segmented Breathing Meditation (this supports clarity and alertness) or Meditation for Stress (yep to relieve stress). One is a breathing pattern which also stimulates your vagus nerve and the other is a chanting meditation which stimulates the brain function and neurological pathways. Enjoy and Be Well.
